According to the APPA (American Pet Products Association) 2011-2012 National Pet Owners Survey, the number of U.S households that own a pet increased by 2.1% to an all time high of 72.9 million in 2012. One can only imagine what the number has risen to over the past three years!
Naturally, with such a large increase in pet ownership, there came a substantial increase in the quality of pet care (inclusive of but not limited to things such as pet foods, living quarters, healthcare and grooming). The biggest growth in pet care industry is noted in the Pet Food sector, where foods that are beneficial to each of the growth and health stages of the pet in question. It goes without saying that most foods need some form of container to be served in; and with the increase in technology and knowledge about the dietary needs of pets alongside the amount of time people spend away from home (during work/school hours), the standard Pet Bowl is primitive in comparison with some modern pet feeders.
We hope to prototype an affordable, user friendly pet feeder that takes pet care to the next level
